About the project
The project for this year is to strengthen the fundraising to finance the Christmas party for more than 5000 children from different communities in the canton of Talamanca, this includes our commitment to give everyone a gift as well as products of needs basic among which are, rubber boots, clothes, food and mats.

The beginning

The mission began several years ago in a family of San Ramon who dreamed of sharing their Christmas.
At first there were a few ... then joined ... and added up to be hundreds of collaborators.
See in their faces a certain fear and after this, a mischievous smile, make forget the visitors the time and the difficulties of the trip.
They were only five days of work, or rather of celebration; but for that, we have worked hard and hopefully for twelve months.
Thousands of gifts, pairs of boots, newspapers, clothes, pots and food were distributed in the different communities or neighborhoods of Talamanca, Sixaola and Valle la Estrella ... hamlets or villages such as Daltonia, Celia, Quebrada Cañas, Platanar, Suretka, and Vesta saw the trucks arrive and smiling without stopping ...
The "end of the year" or "vacation" trip, as many people call this time, include sunscreen, insect repellent, sleeping bags and tents, but not to make a family camping, but rather, to build hotels where for several nights we will sleep.

Waiting. In Suretka the little ones come with their best clothes, they did not mind walking several hours one way and many others back, to receive their ONLY gift. the smaller ones, they only wear the diaper or the little clothes they have.
Where it is harder to get into, the help of a helicopter is almost a miracle and in others, you can only enter by walking through the mountains

The emotion of the little ones. The tears of many, the fatigue of the boys and girls flood the atmosphere. There is so much energy that sometimes it is difficult to sleep.
Canoe trips come and go, crossing rivers so that the protagonists of the story can enjoy Christmas. The event includes football championships, lunches, clowns and dozens of participants' occurrences. In Vesta, the Cabecar Hitoi Cerere eagerly await the tract-mule that will take them to the party ...
They would stay at the lodge for two nights and then the trip back home ... Some (many) do not speak Spanish but they still say thank you with their gesture

Upon return once the work is done, the members of Casa Nazareth and another volunteer, add another year of satisfaction, because we managed to bring these children a toy, people like you or me, decided to donate this Christmas to them, but it was needed to cross kilometers of roads, rivers and mountains to reach his hands.
Already installed in their homes ... it begins to plan the next Christmas
